God’s Smile // Psalm 31:14-16
Smiles are powerful, aren’t they? I tried to think of meaningful smiles I’ve experienced in life and a multitude flooded into my mind. The calming ones when I was an anxious child. The flirty ones when I was dating. The overwhelming ones from my children. Smiles convey a lot, don’t they?
Check out this awesome passage from the Psalms: “Desperate, I throw myself on you: you are my God! Hour by hour I place my days in your hand, safe from the hands out to get me. Warm me, your servant, with a smile; save me because you love me” (Psalm 31:14-16, MSG).
Think about how awesome it is to know God smiles when He thinks of you. Are you anxious? Let His smile calm you. Are you seeking? Let His smile woo you. Are you leading? Let His smile assure you.
Mother Teresa said that peace begins with a smile. I love that. Jesus taught that we can find a heavenly peace when we turn to Him. Know that God is smiling as you do. God has been smiling on you since He dreamed up your life. He will keep smiling on you through your life. He will be smiling on you when He finally welcomes you home. Let God warm you with a smile today.
