God’s Great Gift // Ephesians 2:8-9
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
It is the first Saturday in December, it marks the first weekend of Advent, and a time when our culture shifts to the season of giving. I want us to focus this month on how God sent us Jesus for our salvation. We know God loved us first, which inspires our ability to love. This isn’t based on who you are, whatever you have, or anything you can do; after all, everything comes from God. This, my friends, includes your salvation! God’s offer of the life-saving relationship is based solely on His character (LOVE!) and how that love lives for you! So, may we all receive this gift and pledge our lives to offer it to others since Jesus (NOT Hallmark) said it’s better to give than receive. May this be the hope by which we embrace this season, making it truly a December to remember!
