God’s Due // 1 Chronicles 29:11

1 Chronicles 29:11 (NIV) | Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Check out the words in today’s verse that describe God: great, powerful, glorious, majestic, splendid, exalted, and authoritative. The context was a prayer to God offered by King David when the people, following his lead, gave extravagantly to build the Temple. As great of a king as David was, he knew the ultimate Kingdom belonged to God and God alone. This, my friends, is true for you and me, too. God is the ultimate…the beginning, end, and everything in-between of everything there ever was, is, and will be. So, let’s give God His due, shall we?
