Go Where and Do What? // Mark 16:15

Today’s verse comes from the Gospel of Mark’s version of Jesus’ Great Commission. The Great Commission appears in all the Gospels, though the writers gave slightly different emphases. Mark’s, as is most of his Gospel, is rather short, sweet, and to the point where we see a model given by Jesus that is full of action. Jesus said, “Go.” Go where? Into all the world and not just the places you want to. And do what? Proclaim! Tell the story of God’s love for us in Christ and how we find salvation in the forgiveness of sins. Remember, Jesus’ parting words before ascending into Heaven are full of action words: go and proclaim and do it everywhere. May this give us a call and a challenge as we prepare to head to God’s house for worship today.
