From First Steps to Giant Leaps // Hebrews 11:6

Today’s verse is one that sticks with me. Hebrews 11:6 teaches about how faith is required to please God. It goes on to say that, “Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” We don’t often start with the first step of faith being believing that God is real, but perhaps we should. God is more than just a higher power or intelligent designer — God is Creator, Savior, and Sustainer of and for all. God doesn’t just exist, He is preeminent. Each Sunday I do my best to say that “God is real; He loves you; and has a purpose for your life.” I pray you acknowledge and believe that today. It’s the first step in faith, but a giant leap into an entirely new reality. So how do you need to flex your faith muscle today? Where do you need to show you believe that God is real in your everyday living? How does the fact that God loves you challenge your approach to the world in all its varying manifestations? How does knowing there is a purpose for your life help guide your decisions? Make it so today and every day!
