For God So Loved…

John 3:16

It’s the 4th Sunday in Advent and a perfect time to look at love. Today’s verse is one of the most well known in all of the Scriptures, for it tells of God’s love for the world and plan to save His precious children. Please note how it says that God loves the world. It does not say that God loves parts of the world, certain people, or those who act a certain way. That doesn’t mean that God loves everything we do to the world or in the world, but God loves the world. You can think about it like a parent and a child. The parent doesn’t quit loving the child when they misbehave or make a mess; no, the parent loves the child so much they help shape their kids to get and be better. God’s plan was, and still is, Jesus…Immanuel, or God with us. Jesus came to show that the heartbeat of Heaven beats for us, die for our sins that separates us from God’s perfect presence, and then guide us in our lives. All this means that you don’t have to clean up your life before you can come to Jesus. Jesus says to come to Him, and you’ll clean up things together. God loves you and gave Jesus for you so you can enjoy the glory of eternal life. Let’s dive into that life in love today!
