Earth Day // Genesis 1:1

Happy Earth Day! We read in the opening verse of the Bible that God created the heavens and the earth (Gen.1:1). We read a little further down to verse 28 and see how God gave Adam the task of subduing and taking dominion over the earth. Unfortunately, since sin entered the world, humanity has been more about abusing creation as opposed to stewarding it. So, it is my hope that as we mark another Earth Day, people of faith will take heart to care for the planet as well as each other. This was God’s mandate then and it still applies today.
