Don’t Settle // Philippians 4:14

Today is known as Reach As High As You Can Day. This is a time for us to consider our goals and strive to achieve all we can if not more. One thing I think is important for us to consider is how low we tend to actually aim in life. We crave comfort, and as a result, can settle if we aren’t careful. This isn’t what God wants for us; no, the Lord wants us to be more than we could ever be on our own! Philippians 4:13 is an encouraging verse that states, “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” This isn’t just a feel-good verse for a coffee mug, but something that challenges us to channel God’s grace and seek the things of the Lord that are higher than what we could ever accomplish on our own. This means we need to put in our own effort, trusting the One who made us with certain strengths and weaknesses, while constantly seeking God’s will and way while studying His Word. So, I want to amend Reach As High As You Can Day by challenging you to seek the things above where Christ Jesus is, and not settling for the things of this earth which will grow strangely dim.
