Delivered // Psalm 34:19

Today’s verse provides a great reminder for the Jesus follower. Faith does not inoculate against us difficulties but gives the (A) perspective to know they won’t last, (B) strength to endure them, and (C) a purpose to help others going through similar struggles. People will often ask a believer how they square a good, loving God in light of the troubles we encounter in the world. For me, I don’t know how people get through them with hope apart from God. So, if you are facing troubles today, remember that God will deliver you from them all in one way or another. Never forget that this world is not your home. God wants the stress and struggles we encounter to draw us closer to Him and make us more like Jesus. I want to close with a short passage from James 1:2-4. May these words buttress our verse for the day from Psalms 34:19 as we prepare to tackle whatever today throws our way with the faith, hope, and love of God in Christ Jesus…

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
(James 1:2-4, NLT)
