Decide, Declare, & Dedicate // 1 Samuel 2:2

1 Samuel 2:2 (NIV) | “There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.

There is no one holy like God. Amen? But what does that mean? Holy is defined as set apart and free from defilement, common use, and corruption. We are told to be holy like God is holy, and not just by other people, but God Himself. Consider Leviticus 11:44, “I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy.” When we consider consecrating something, it is declaring and dedicating something for a holy purpose. This is what God wants from you and me…to declare our faith and dedicate our lives to living for the Living Lord. True, there is no one holy like the Lord, and you might feel like you have no hope to attain holiness. Perish that thought, for you aren’t left alone to accomplish that task; no, God Himself comes to you in the Holy Spirit to do that work in you. So, the best way to start is to go back to consecration: decide to follow Jesus; declare your faith in Him; and dedicate yourself fully to living for Him. Let’s do it, shall we?
