Daily Resurrections // Galatians 2:20

Happy Easter Monday! I pray yesterday’s Resurrection celebrations have you feeling inspired and hopeful. Jesus LIVES and in Him you live, too. Today’s verse is a reminder of the promise of new life that comes with faith in Jesus. Your old self was crucified with Christ, laid in the tomb, and left there as He walked out into eternity. Yes, there are times when echoes of the old self might reverberate, but they hold no power over you. If you feel tempted to indulge in your flesh, remember that old you was crucified, dead, and buried. The really beautiful thing is you have a new life, resurrected with Jesus. Do not simply skim over this message: the same power that raised Jesus from the grave is the power of God living within you; therefore, it is no longer just you who lives, but Christ Jesus living in you! This, my friends is the fulfillment of Jesus’ teaching to Nicodemus that you must be born again (John 3:3) and how the Apostle Paul wrote that God makes us a brand new creation thanks to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Sometimes we need the daily reminders that our old selves were crucified with Christ and are dead and gone. I like to call those, Daily Resurrections. So embrace that promise and truth on this day after Easter. Face the day with the resurrecting power of God surging in and through your life!
