Daily Resurrection // Galatians 2:20
Galatians 2:20 | I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Today’s verse is a powerful teaching about how Christ died for our sins on the cross so we can live for Him. It is the first time (chronologically, according to scholars) that Paul shared Christ’s motivation as love for enduring the cross. The gist we should embrace is that Jesus could bear the horror of crucifixion better than the thought of an eternity without you near Him. This love is precisely why we need to die daily to the sinfulness that helped drive the nails into Jesus’ hands and feet. The beautiful result of this is if we die to self, God surges His power to resurrect us daily, too! May we live into that love of God to share it with others in the holy, helping, and healing name of Jesus.
