Count the Cost to Finish the Job // Luke 14:28-30

Today is National Bean Counter’s Day, a time to say thank you to the tax professionals who helped us navigate the season and grant them a chance to rest. Jesus told a parable of sorts in Luke 14 where he challenged people to consider the cost of following Him. This means Jesus wants all of us to be bean counters in faith. “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?” (Luke 14:28) So, on this National Bean Counter’s Day, while our tax pros are catching their breaths after a busy season, take some time to make sure you are counting the cost of what it means to following the Lord. Build your foundation on Him and allow Christ to help you finish the task!
