The Comfort Convergence // 2 Corinthians 1:4
2 Corinthians 1:4 (NLT) | [God] comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
How do you read today’s passage in light of the quote in the graphic below? I think it’s a beautiful image — when we go through problems, God comes alongside us to bring comfort. Then, God leads us alongside someone else to share that comfort. Is it to brag about where we are and how much we’ve done? Nope. It’s to point people to God. Trials and traumas can cause us — even subconsciously — to stay focused on our problems. It’s a defense mechanism to help guard the mind and heart. Pointing people to God helps adjust our perspective so we see how small even our biggest losses are next to our victorious and eternal God. That comfort convergence confirms that we are designed to be in triad relationships with God and others. So, feel God’s comfort today and look for ways to comfort someone else who can benefit from what you’ve learned a few steps farther down the road of life.
