Come to the Light // Isaiah 60:3
Today is the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. We feel that darkness and long for the light. Today’s verse tells us that all nations will come to the light of God. Later in this same chapter, v.19, we read, “No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor the moon to give its light by night, for the LORD your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory” (NLT). This brings us the bookend to creation when God called light into being days before He spun into motion those things by which receive illumination; i.e., the sun, moon, and stars. Let’s pray today for our nation, it’s leaders, and those throughout the world that everyone may turn to the Light of the World amidst so much spiritual darkness. God is offering the invitation, “Come,” so May we hear and heed it.
