Clean Up on Aisle You // Romans 5:8
We are getting close to Easter. How are you feeling? Are you ready? Have you been able to enjoy this time of preparation? As we do inch closer to the most defining event in eternity, I think it’s important to take a look at the power of God’s love.
As you see in today’s verse, God gave us Jesus out of His love. Friends, this is something almost impossible to comprehend. We talk about God’s love, and well we should, but do we experience the ferocity of it? Do we live in such a way where we take in the magnitude of what that means? All too often — when speaking with people about accepting God’s love in Christ — the retort comes back that people either (A) don’t need to worry about it because they’re basically good people, or (B) they could never be good enough because of past or present messes. Friends, both are off-base. For starters, we can never be good enough to earn God’s love — that isn’t how it works. Your salvation isn’t based on what you can do for God but what God already did for you! On the flip side, there’s nothing you could do for God to love you less. God doesn’t wait for us to clean our room or our plates or our lives before He comes to help. God says accept my gift of love and offer of salvation and we’ll clean up your life together. This blessing of clean-up on aisle you is God’s greatest act of mercy made personally available for each and every one of us.
So, don’t wait. Acknowledge your need, believe Jesus can help, confess your sin, decide to change, embrace God love, freely live in it, and gracefully share it with others. Lives will be changed, beginning with your own.
