Choose Faith // Psalms 56:3
Did you know fear and faith are processed in the same place in the brain? It comes down to a choice. What interests me is the reality that we can’t choose the physiological responses that cause us to feel fear, but we can choose our behavioral response. Courage is not the absence of fear, but doing the right thing in the face of it. So how do we do that? Trust the One who is bigger than any problem we will face. Jesus said these words, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). So whatever comes up today that causes fear, choose faith. Trust in God who sent us Jesus to find peace in the face of our trials and sorrows. Let Jesus give you the encouragement and strength to face the future unafraid, putting your faith in Him. When you feel afraid, pray to feel Jesus’ presence. He is there.
