Bring out the Beauty // 1 Thessalonians 5:15

What do you see when you look into the eyes of another? Do your competitive juices start flowing? Do you compare yourself to him or her positively or negatively? Or do you feel compassion, care, or commitment? Mandy Hale wrote the quote in the graphic below about discovering beauty by bringing out the beauty in others. I love that! I cherish the times I get to do it for others and really appreciate it when people do the same for me. Yes, it can be humbling and uncomfortable at times because it reveals our vulnerabilities. Those vulnerabilities might be our own self esteem, envy, or some other feeling; still, there is no denying what we read in 1 Thessalonians 5:15 that we are to look for the best in each other, and always do what we can to maximize it. So, think of someone in your life today who needs to have beauty revealed to them? How can you maximize it and help someone realize they are made in the image of our amazing God? Whatever it is, do that, even if it means you have to go out of your way…make it today’s mission, will you?
