All Saints Sunday // Psalm 27:14
Psalm 27:14 (MSG) | I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.
Today we celebrate All Saints Day in the church. This is a time we remember those who finished their Jesus journey in the last year. Celebrations such as these remind us of how much we miss dear loved ones and it dredges up the grief that remains, regardless how long it has been. What can help is to remember the words of the Apostle Paul that state that we are at home with God when we are absent from the body (2 Corinthians 5:8). Regardless how you face today, I hope you do so with the posture of the psalmist in Psalm 27: be confident that God’s goodness will be seen in creation, stay with God, be courageous, develop perseverance, and repeat. Make that your mantra for today and every day.
