Above // Colossians 3:2
What are you thinking about on this beautiful Saturday morning? As self-help author and lecturer Bob Proctor wrote, “What you think about you bring about.” This definitely lines up with Christian teaching that we are to set our thoughts on godly things to find transformation, keep our minds there with so many distractions, protect those thoughts when they’re under attack, and return them there when we slip. All of this is found in today’s verse where we read we are to set our minds on things above and not on earthly things. What an important thought task, especially considering we bring about what we think about. So what is in your mind? Is it of God? Do you need to re-place those thoughts, keep those thoughts there, and protect those thoughts against the distractions that aim to ravage your peace of mind? I think we all do. So let’s make that our goal for today…to set our minds on the things above — the things of God — as opposed to the gross things of this world.
