A Powerful Purpose Prevails // Proverbs 19:21

God’s way wins in the end. We can make all the plans we want, but as the old adage goes, that’s one way to make God laugh. Now honestly, I am a firm believer in free will. I also believe in the promise from Romans 8:28 that “God causes everything to work togetherĀ for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” These do not have to exist in contradiction. There are times God intervenes and times we might think He doesn’t, though we really can’t know for sure. One thing I do know for sure, though, is He works miracles even in our biggest messes and misses. So what is God’s purpose? It is to save us and restore the loving relationship for which we were all created. God invites us into that purpose when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. This way, we can take the things of life we experience and use them to point people to God. When have you realized that God’s purpose prevailed in spite of yourself or circumstances? How can you work within your plans to build a better relationship with God and the people He’s given you to do life with? Do those things, find that synchronicity, and see how the evidence of God’s powerful purpose explodes in your life!
