A Patient Promise // 2 Peter 3:9

This is a verse that I need to return to over and over again when I feel anxious, impatient, discouraged. Jesus promised to return, and the length of time it has taken since His ascension has left some to wonder or worry or wonder if they missed the boat. Peter gives us this awesome reminder that God will keep His promise and asks us to be patient while He exercises patience, too. Why? So no one will perish for lack of opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus. Let’s do our part and not try God’s patience due to our own laziness or hubris, because the needed repentance might just need to come from us first.
