Protected // 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Today’s verse comes in a section where the Apostle Paul acknowledged that there were wicked people, and people under the influence of wicked spiritual forces, who were trying to stop their work. If wickedness wasn’t successful in stopping the movement of God, then perhaps discrediting it even a little could prove effective. This still happens today when we see all kinds of evil inflicted on the innocent. People naturally wonder how a good God can let such awful things happen. Shoot, I wonder those things at times, too. What we must remember is God’s greatest concern in this fallen world is our eternal destination. Sin has marred creation and Jesus is working to redeem it. He suffered Himself to show that no one is immune to trouble, but we are to trust God in the face of it. So, the good news we get in today’s verse helps us see that even when the going gets tough, God is the One who has the final word on our eternal destination. Trust that and trust Him! The Lord IS faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
