12th Night // Psalm 3:5
Today will bring us the 12th Night. This is the official end of the Christmas Season. Did you know that Christmas is a season and not just a day? We tend to think of it beginning around Thanksgiving and going through December 25, but it actually begins on Christmas Day and goes for twelve days. The season leading up to Christmas is Advent, and Epiphany comes right after Christmas. We’ll explore Epiphany tomorrow, but the big idea is how tonight we will lay down our heads, sleep, and awake to a whole new reality. As we lie down and sleep and wake again, we can do so knowing that God is with us and for us. So, as today ends and officially brings the Christmas season to a close, know that tomorrow will bring with us an “epiphany” that changed the world and changes us still.
