Walking the Talk // 1 John 3:18

Have you heard the saying that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care? It flies in the face of another saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.” The key point here is putting our faith into action, ensuring our beliefs and behavior align. God doesn’t want us to pay lip service to Him by simply talking a big game, but to live accordingly, too. Let’s face it, people who are skeptical of faith look for virtually any and every reason to keep from surrendering to the Lord. And to be honest, we give them plenty of cause, don’t we? So, I want to close with another verse from 1 John 1:17, “if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (NIV). Let’s find at least one way this Saturday to walk in the light, show someone else what a purified life in Christ looks like, and help them turn to Jesus to do the same.
