Nothing fuels compassion and generosity like face to face missions. In the faces of those who are less fortunate we see the grace of God and the best of who we are. God calls us to share the light of Jesus with others by meeting real needs – here, there, and everywhere! Find out more below, contact the leader, and get involved.
Volunteer to show God's love to needy children by providing a night to remember. Everyone has an ability or talent that can bless others. Can you help with crafts, sewing, woodworking, or food? The Prom is scheduled each Spring, but planning and funding opportunities exist throughout the year.
Hope Church illustrates God’s love to 90+ children in the community every week through our Weekend SnackPack Program. This program provides supplemental, kid-friendly food for students in need on weekends. Get involved with weekly packing, food purchases, and donations. These items are always welcomed: microwavable ravioli, ramen noodles, Easy Mac, fruit cups, applesauce cups, granola bars, instant oatmeal or grits packs, individually wrapped salty and sweet snacks.
Hope Church illustrates God’s love to children over the summer break months by providing and delivering lunches daily M-F. We deliver the lunches to families in needy communities. In addition to volunteer opportunities, if you shop at Kroger, register your Kroger Plus Card with Kroger Community Rewards and select Hope United Methodist Church (Organization Number AA172) as your charity. A percentage of your total purchases will be given to our SnackPack/SummerLunch program. Go to www.krogercommunityrewards.com and get signed up today!
Hands of Hope is a local, hands-on, mission weekend. Hope Church develops relationships with local families for the purpose of illustrating God’s love. We seek to improve the lives of others by helping with home function and safety improvements. Projects range from yard clean-up to painting to small construction jobs. HOH is typically scheduled for the end of May or first of June. Check out www.placeofhope.org/events to find out more information.
Hope Church illustrates God in the African country of Cameroon. We offer toys and hygiene products to children who are living in orphanages. Many of these children either have never received a gift or only receive a gift at Christmas when we bring them. Emmanuel and Evodia Fonji, natives of Cameroon, lead this effort each year. The primary giving efforts happens with our Christmas in July campaign and the gifts are delivered in December through a small mission team.
As Hope Church grows we intend to also grow the profile or mission opportunities. We believe it is important for believers in Christ to meet practical needs in the lives of the most needy among us. God has called us to make difference here there and everywhere. Every new mission opportunity is vetted by the Hope Church Board and aligns with the mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
