To Comfort and Connect // John 20:21
Today’s verse comes a week after Easter morning and Jesus’ resurrection. He told the disciples gathered in the upper room, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” The word we see for peace isn’t just the absence of conflict, but the promise of connected unity. Jesus told the disciples that He was sending them, but with the Holy Spirit’s power and protection to continue His ongoing rescue mission for humanity.
I hope you will go with Jesus wherever you have to go today. He wants to send you His peace to comfort you, as well as His presence to connect you. Do not fear. Rather, bask in the offer of salvation given to you through the forgiveness of sins, and help others know that offer is for them, too! It is peace Jesus gives to comfort and connect us eternally. Let’s go and live accordingly.
