Steps to a Joyful Heart // Psalm 119:2

Psalm 119:2 (NLT) | Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.

We’re here at the last day of November. How does that strike you? I love this season as we prepare for the glory of Christmas. We must be mindful, though, that we don’t allow the marketing machine to tell us that we’ll find joy in the boxes, baskets, and bags. Today’s verse tells us that we find joy in obeying God’s laws, which all come down to love. The basic structure of the Psalms teaches us that we find joy by seeking God’s will, obeying God’s Word, resisting evil, and continuously walking in faith. This is a time when we must be mindful of how our wants and God’s ways collide. So, as we prepare to turn the calendar to December, my prayer for us is we steep our lives in God’s Word, seek God’s will, and commit every step to going God’s way. This is what will bring joy to your heart in every season. So, let’s do it, shall way?
