THE POWER OF PRAYER 2 // Prayer Patterns

Follow Along Notes

Luke 11:1-4 (ESV)

Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”

The Lord’s Prayer is a Model for Praying

Take Note of the Three Categories of The Lord’s Prayer:

  1. God’s Name: God’s Names Teach Us God’s Nature (see “The Names of God” image below)
  2. God’s Kingdom: Everything Seen and Unseen

3. God’s Will: Living for God in All Ways and All Days

ACTS Prayer

  • Adore God
  • Confess your sin to God
  • Thank God
  • Seek Help/Requests

Prayer Cues: Remind me to Pray
