Ephesians 1:17 (NIV) | ¹⁷ I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

• Jesus is the revelation of God and is available to all.

 

Ephesians 1:18-19a (NIV) | ¹⁸ I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, ¹⁹ and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

• The big idea is Jesus helps us make sense of the past and helps us in daily living.

Ephesians 1:19b-21 (NIV) | That power is the same as the mighty strength ²⁰ he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, ²¹ far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

• The same power that raised Jesus from the grave is the same power made available to us today.

 

Acts 26:17-18 (NIV) | (Jesus to Paul) I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.

• Jesus Himself hit the “reset button” allowing us to start anew when we start with faith.

1. When have you wished you could hit a reset button in life?
2. Jesus’ presence and power helps us see the world as it is differently. What does this mean for your own Jesus journey?
3. Ryan Reynolds’ charter, Guy, in the movie, Free Guy, had a complete transformation when he was able to see the world as it really existed. What changes did he experience? How can you parallel this with the experience of the Jesus follower?
4. What power does God make available to you? How will you utilize it in support of Jesus’ rescue mission for humanity?
5. What role does faith play? How does faith help us see how God is already at work in us, and in the world through us?
